Located in the Jungfrau Region of Switzerland, in the beautiful village of Grindelwald, The Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof is a classic chalet on a grand scale. The hotel’s setting is quiet but central with an easy walk to lifts and the main street.

Walk into the restaurant and the atmosphere is almost tangible; wood-panelled walls, tiled floors and sturdy carved wooden pillars bustle with crowds of skiers, appetites sharpened and faces animated by the clear mountain air. Milling through the crowds are waitresses in traditional dress bearing trays of food and drink. Though informal, the cuisine is of a high standard, with all the salads, vegetables and herbs organically grown in the hotel’s garden.

Life’s simple pleasures, such as massage, solarium, sauna and Turkish bath are all catered for in a well-equipped health club. There’s an indoor swimming pool with picture-windows looking out over the near peaks of mountains: many feel this Bernese Oberland provides the finest scenery in the Alps.
